General terms and conditions of use of the site

ARTICLE 1: Object

The purpose of these “general terms and conditions of use” is to determine the terms of provision of the services of the site and their use by the “User”.
Any User wishing to access the site must agree to the general terms and conditions of use. These are the contract between the site and the User. In accessing the site the User agrees to these general terms and conditions.

  • Any User who does not agree to the general terms and conditions stipulated in this contract must not access the services available on the site.
  • Régie Ligne d’Azur reserves the right to unilaterally modify the content of these general terms and conditions of use at any time.

The Lignes d’Azur site is published by Régie Ligne d’Azur, whose registered offices are located at 2 boulevard Henri Sappia 06100 Nice, France.

ARTICLE 3: Definitions

The purpose of this clause is to define the various key terms in the contract:

  • User: this term refers to any person who uses the site or any of the services available on the site.
  • User Content: this is the data shared by the User on the site.
  • Member: the User becomes a member after logging onto the site.
  • Username and password: all of the information required for a User to log onto the site. The username and password enable the User to access member-only services. The password is confidential.


ARTICLE 4: Access to services

The site provides the User with free access to the following services:

  • Information on routes, timetables, services+, practical information and interruptions.
  • My account for use of the transportation on demand service, to manage favourites and traffic info alerts.

The site is accessible free of charge anywhere and by any User with access to the internet. All costs incurred by users in accessing the service (computer hardware, software, internet connection etc.) are payable by them.

As the case may be:
Users without member status do not have access to member-only services. For this, they must log in with their user name and password.

The site uses all necessary means to ensure high-quality access to its services. Since this is a best-efforts obligation, the site does not commit to achieving this result.

Régie Ligne d’Azur shall not be held liable for any force majeure event that causes the network or server to malfunction.

Access to the site's services may be interrupted, suspended or modified at any time, without warning, for maintenance or any other reasons. Users shall not claim any compensation following the interruption, suspension or modification of this contract.

ARTICLE 5: Intellectual property

The brands, logos, signs and any other site content are protected under the Intellectual Property Code and more specifically copyright.

Users must request the site's prior authorisation prior to reproducing, publishing or copying any of its content.

The site content is for personal use by the User only. Any use of content for commercial purposes is strictly prohibited.

Users are solely liable for any content posted by them. Users undertake not to post online content that may infringe the interests of third parties. Any legal proceedings brought by an injured third party against the site are payable by the User.

The site administrator may remove or modify User content at any time and for any reason. The User receives no justification or notification prior to the removal or modification of User content.

The whole site is protected by French and international legislation on intellectual property. Any reproduction rights are reserved, including for downloadable documents. Under article L122-4 of the French Intellectual Property Code, any texts, graphics, icons, photographs, plans, logos, videos, sounds, brands, and more generally all elements making up the site and the site itself may not be represented or reproduced, in full or in part, on any medium, without the prior, express authorisation of Régie Ligne d’Azur or rights holders.

Failure to honour this ban constitutes infringement for which the author may have civil and/or criminal liability. Régie Ligne d’Azur reserves the right to bring legal proceedings against anyone who fails to honour this ban.

Similarly, using or reproducing the name “Lignes d’Azur” and/or its logo, alone or in combination with others, for any purpose and on any medium without the prior, written agreement of Régie Ligne d’Azur is strictly prohibited.


ARTICLE 6: Personal data

Information requested when registering with the site is contractual in nature, necessary and mandatory for the creation of the User's account.
Entering into the sales agreement or associated service contracts is conditional on its collection.

For the use of the service “My account”, following personal data are collected: last name, first name, email, “favourites” (stops, lines, places, routes)
For the use of the service “pay my fine”, personal data are collected: last name, first name, email, report number, date of offence and bank details.

Lignes d’Azur offers the User a guarantee that personal data will be collected and processed with respect for privacy in accordance with the French Data Protection Act (loi n°78-17 relative à l'informatique, aux fichiers et aux libertés,) of 6 January 1978 as amended in 2004, and the General Data Protection Regulation (2016/679 - GDPR) in force since 25 May 2018. 

The controller stores all data collected for the duration of registration with the service and for a two-year period thereafter for commercial and statistical purposes for customers and prospects. Validation data is anonymised quickly.

Data is collected and processed for the following aims:

  • Creation and management of the service “My account”
  • Registering with the “Traffic info” alert service
  • Processing customer requests
  • Statistics on the use of the “Lignes d’Azur” network

Data are collected and processed in France and hosted in the European Union.

The personal data controller is la Régie Ligne d’Azur.
They may be contacted using the site’s contact form.

In accordance with legislation on the protection of personal data, Users are entitled to access, rectify, erase or object to their personal data. 
They may exercise this right using the site's contact form.
In order for the Data controller to grant any requests, Users are required to provide: their first name, last name, proof of identity and email address.
The data controller is required to respond to the User within no more than 30 (thirty) days.
In the event that the data controller decides not to respond to the user’s request and that the user wishes to appeal that decision, the user is entitled to refer the matter to the French data protection authority (CNIL - Commission Informatique de l’Informatique et des Libertés).

The data controller undertakes to protect the personal data collected, not to share it with a third party without informing the User, and to respect the purposes for which the data were collected.
In the event that the integrity, confidentiality or security of the User's personal data is compromised, the data controller undertakes to notify the User by any means.

Any data gathered or processed whilst the User is browsing this site are for use by la Régie Ligne d’Azur, its processors and partners, to improve the services offered on the site, process User requests to register with certain services, inform users of Lignes d’Azur offers and news, subject to the User's agreement.

In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Régie Ligne d’Azur has appointed a Data Protection Officer (DPO).

The user has the right of access, right to rectification, the right to object, where relevant, the right to data portability, to restrict processing and the right to erase their personal data.

ARTICLE 7: Liability and force majeure

The information sources published on the site are deemed to be reliable. However, the service reserves the right not to guarantee the reliability of services. The information on the site is provided as a guide only. As such, Users bear sole liability for the use of any information and content on this site.

Users must keep their password secret. Passwords must not be disclosed in any form.

Users bear the risks associated with using their user name and password. The site accepts no liability.

The site may be compensated for any use of the service by the User which results directly or indirectly in damages.

The site offers no optimal guarantee of the security and confidentiality of any data shared. However, the site undertakes to implement all necessary means to guarantee the security and confidentiality of data.

The site may not be held liable in the event of a force majeure event or the unforeseeable and insurmountable actions of a third party.


ARTICLE 8: Hyperlinks

Many outbound hyperlinks to other web pages are present on the site but Régie Ligne d’Azur has no control over these links and is not liable for them.
As such, Users must not seek to hold the site liable for the content and resources associated with these outbound hyperlinks.


ARTICLE 9: Contract changes

The site reserves the right to modify the clauses in this contract at any time.


ARTICLE 10: Term

This is an open-ended contract. The contract shall become effective for the User upon first use of the service.


ARTICLE 11: Choice of law

In accordance with the provisions of article L.156-1 of the French Consumer Code, you may refer to the Consumer Ombudsman any dispute with Régie Ligne d’Azur that has remained unresolved following a prior complaint made directly to its services.

The applicable law is French law and the competent courts are those within the jurisdiction of Nice.

ARTICLE 12: User posts

The site allows members to publish (post) (comments/personal works).

In their posts, members undertake to comply with web etiquette and the law.

The site pre-moderates and post-moderates posts and reserves the right not to post them online with no obligation to give the member reasons.

Members continues to hold all intellectual property rights. But by posting on the site, they assign to the publishing company the non-exclusive, free right to represent, reproduce, adapt, modify, circulate and distribute their post, directly or via an authorised third party, worldwide, on any medium (digital or physical) for the duration of intellectual property. In particular, the Member assigns the right to use their post on the internet and mobile phone networks.

The publishing company undertakes to feature the name of the member in proximity to any use of their post.

Consumer Ombudsman

Under the terms of article L.156-1 of the French Consumer Code, you can refer a complaint to the Consumer Ombudsman if a dispute with the ‘Régie Ligne d’Azur’ remains unsettled, where prior complaint has already been made to our offices.
