Safety & Incidents #
In the event of an accident with one of our vehicles, the procedures differ depending on the operator:
- For bus lines: 5, 6, 7, 8, 11, 12, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 20, 21, 30, 31, 32, 33, 35, 36, 37, 38, 57, 64, 76, 82, CADAM Est, specific lines V and 75D and tram lines 1, 2, 3 and B, the driver and third party exchange identities, then arrange an appointment with the accident department to settle the dispute.
- For buses on other lines, an amicable accident report will be drawn up.
For safety reasons, driver-fare collectors are only authorised to pick up and drop off passengers at the official bus stops of the Lignes d'Azur network.
You can submit all your comments on the Lignes d'Azur website via the contact form. You can also send a message on the official Lignes d'Azur Facebook page.
The doors close automatically and do not depend on driver intervention. Various devices detect the movement of travellers near the doors; if no movement is detected for 3 to 4 seconds, the doors close.
On the tram, to ensure that the door remains open, it is recommended to press the (red) button again just before boarding or alighting the vehicle.
You should note the time, the line, the stop, the vehicle number and any other information that may be useful.
File a complaint at the nearest police station.
Inform Lignes d'Azur of the circumstances by telephone (08 1006 1006) or by post (RLA, 2 Boulevard Henri Sappia, 06 100 NICE).
Many stops are located at an intersection with traffic lights. Priority lights are granted to public transport. The priority-light command is carried out automatically after the doors are closed and locked.
The short time before the green light is obtained does not allow the driver to reopen the doors without risking losing a complete light phase and causing a delay that would affect the whole network. The illuminated door-opening request buttons are no longer active during this period and remain off.

Vehicles equipped with air conditioning do not allow the driver to adjust the programming of this system, which automatically manages the ambient temperature in the vehicles according to preset standards.
On buses, in the event of an air conditioning breakdown, it is possible to ask the driver to open the vehicle's ventilation flaps (the windows of an air-conditioned vehicle cannot be opened except in special cases).
On trams, an alert is immediately sent to the PCC (Control Centre) which will trigger the necessary measures as soon as the carriage arrives at the "Henri Sappia" terminus.
